Historical Context

The Krugerrand was originally introduced in 1967 as a gold bullion coin. The silver version, the 1 oz Silver Krugerrand, was first minted in 2017 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the gold Krugerrand. It quickly became a popular silver bullion coin, mirroring the success of its gold counterpart.
