Obverse DesignCentral inscription: 'La ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la sharika lahu' (There is no god but Allah alone, He has no partner). Margin inscription: 'Muhammad rasul Allah arsalahu bi'l-huda wa din al-haqq li-yuzhirahu 'ala al-din kullihi wa law kariha al-mushrikun' (Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, He sent him with guidance and the religion of truth to make it prevail over all religions, even if the polytheists dislike it).
Reverse DesignCentral inscription: 'Allah ahad Allah al-samad lam yalid wa lam yulad wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad' (Allah is one, Allah is the eternal, He begot not nor was begotten, and there is none like unto Him). Margin inscription: 'Bism Allah duriba hadha al-dinar fi sanat sab' wa sab'in wa sab'ami'a' (In the name of Allah, this dinar was struck in the year seventy-seven [AH 77]).
