Historical Context

The 1893-S Morgan Dollar is one of the rarest and most highly coveted coins in the Morgan Dollar series due to its extremely low mintage. This low production is often attributed to the economic downturn known as the Panic of 1893, which led to reduced demand for silver coinage.
